Lewis Capaldi says it’s good to be back on stage at Electric Picnic.
He closed the opening day of the three day festival in Laois last night.
The main stage sees Role Model, The Mary Wallopers, CMAT, and Gorillaz perform today.
CMAT cancelled a show in France yesterday due to illness however there’s no update on her Electric Picnic slot yet.
Lewis Capaldi was in the crowd in Stradbally last year, “Electric Picnic! What can I say? It feels good, it feels good to be back. Last time I played here was like way back in 2017, but I was – this time last year I was right in there, having a nice time. Sam Fender was playing, I was giving it this. I was having a really nice time.”
Meanwhile, there’s a damp morning in store for campers at Electric Picnic.
Heavy rain overnight means conditions in the campsites and the arena may be tricky this morning.
Alan O’Reilly from Carlow Weather says the good news is the 80-thousand people in Stradbally have prepared for the conditions:
“”I think you embrace it, embrace the raincoats, sensible shoes, and, you know, just be smart about it, and maybe get into bed by 3:00 am.”
