Concerns have been raised over ongoing delays in resolving dangerous road conditions on the N24 road outside Mooncoin Village.

Councillor Pat Dunphy says residents continue to face serious visibility issues on the road known as ‘the bends’ when exiting their homes, creating significant safety risks.

The matter was referred back to the Planning Commission following a court case, but nearly nine months later a decision has yet to be made on how the case will proceed.

Cllr. Dunphy says everyone is in the dark, “that’s the problem, the road has to be remedied and there are issues there that have to be dealt with and not known whether it’s an oral hearing or [if we’ve] to get submissions in from people.  That’s critical, nothing happened basically, that’s what I call nothing at all happening at the moment and yet the problems exist on the road.”
