Demand leads to extended opening of Carlow soup kitchen

A local soup kitchen will now be catering for people five days a week from today.

St Clare’s Hospitality Kitchen in Carlow have extended their services because they say unfortunately the demand is there.

Fr John Dunphy is one of the driving forces behind the kitchen, and he says their services have grown since first starting out more than 2 years ago.

They had been open 3 days a week originally and that was extended to 4 last year but now the service will open its doors Monday to Friday every week.

Speaking to KCLR News, Fr ¬†Dunphy says they’d still love to hear from anyone who thinks they might like to volunteer with them.
