The Department of Health’s admitting the Minister of State made a mistake when she said a new head of local mental health services had been appointed.
Kathleen Lynch told RTE that Dr Frank Kelly had been replaced in a recent interview following criticism of the Department of Psychiatry at St Lukes Hospital.
Yesterday KCLR confirmed with Dr Kelly that he was in fact still the Clinical Director in charge at the DOP for Carlow Kilkenny and South Tipperary.
Dr Kelly told us that he was on leave and would be dealing with all issues raised when he returned to work.
