A family and community has been left devastated following the death of a 1 year old baby boy in a farm accident in Johnswell.
It happened yesterday afternoon on the family farm.
Two separate investigations are now underway into the death of the one year old boy who has been named locally as Bill Bennett from Johnswell.
Gardaí have confirmed to KCLR news that they were called to the incident shortly after 3 o’clock yesterday afternoon.
Inspectors from the Health and Safety Authority were also notified and attended the scene yesterday evening.
Parish Priest Fr Frank Purcell says it’s an “unimaginable, tragic loss for Baby Bill’s parents, his sister and brothers, grandparents uncles and aunts.”
He says people are deeply shocked by the tragedy and the prayers of the whole community are with the family
