A Kilkenny woman says she felt “discriminated against” at the Nathan Carter concert in Thomastown at the weekend.
Rhianan suffers from JHS – which is Joint Hypromobility Syndrome – which means she can’t stand up for any long period of time.
She told KCLR she’s a huge Nathan Carter fan and that she goes to every concert of his that she can.
However, she says she was subjected to questioning a number of times about her condition on Saturday night.
She says she was left feeling very embarrassed because she had to go through a number of people to be allowed to sit down.
Meanwhile in a statement to KCLR today, Thomastown GAA who organised the concert say that it was advertised as a standing only event but that they did accommodate anyone who contacted them beforehand.
However, they have apologised for any distress caused to Rhianan and they say they’d be happy to contact her to talk to her about her experience.
