RSA driving testers have voted in favour of going on strike.

Members of the Fórsa Trade Union say their employer has failed to make sure testers are covered by the State Claims Agency while working.

If the strike goes ahead, it could mean test wait times increase.

Driving Instructor Brenda Bolger says testers have to take motorists word for being insured; “When somebody goes in to do their driving test they’re given a declaration that they have to read and they have to sign it, and it states that hey are fully insured and meet all the legal requirements to go out on the road and undertake the test, there’s no question as to providing evidence that they are actually insured”.
