“There are those who dump and those who don’t” says local Environmental Patrol Officer

“There are two types of people – those who illegally dump rubbish and those who don’t” – the words of Carlow’s Environmental Patrol Officer.

James Lakes says he doesn’t think that there will be any real increase in illegal dumping locally when the pay-by-weight bin charges come in.

There are fears among many people that the proposed scheme would drive people who feel they can’t afford it to fly-tipping.

Speaking to KCLR James says there are plenty of recycling options in Carlow for people.
