The announcement of €150,000 for Holy Angels Centre in Carlow is being given a cautious welcome today.
The funding for the local day care centre for children with disabilities was announced today by Health Minister Simon Harris while he was visiting the facility.
It’s been 11 years now since those involved in the centre began pushing for the service to be moved to a completely new building.
However, while that move is still said to be on the cards, €150,000 has now been granted for improvement works on the current site – which consists of a number of prefabs.
Carlow’s Senator Jennifer Murnane O’Connor says the importance of getting a new building was made clear to the minister today.
