€19,520 raised for local charities at Castlecomer Wellie Race

The Castlecomer Wellie Race has once again been hailed a success, with €19,520 raised for local charities.

The popular race and float parade, which draws hundreds of participants each year on new years day continues to support good causes across the area.

The organising committee presented the fundraising cheques at a presentation night last night.

Local Councillor Pat Fitzpatrick says those benefiting are very appreciative.
