€36,000 in funding has been granted to two local sports hubs.
Kilkenny City Sports Hub is currently being developed within the new Abbey Creative Quarter and will include a skatepark, and a water sports building with river access.
Ferrybank is also getting a slice of the pie for their facility in the park which would include a large playground and outdoor adult gym equipment amongst other things.
The funding was has been announced as part of the government’s national Physical Activity Plan.
Speaking to KCLR News, Caitríona Corr from Kilkenny Recreation and Sports Partnership says this money will go a long way towards bringing their plans for the city hub to life.
