Carlow & Kilkenny are being granted more than 40 thousand euro between them to tackle litter and graffiti.
It comes on top of funding announced earlier this week for improving public spaces in the run up to tourist season.
The Department of the Environment has today announced 850 thousand euro in funding to local authorities under the Anti-Litter and Anti-Graffiti Awareness Grant Scheme.
Carlow county council gets almost 19 thousand and Kilkenny is in line for more than 22 and a half thousand.
The money will go to support appropriate public education and awareness initiatives in relation to both litter and graffiti.
It follows an announcement earlier this week of 160 thousand euro between the 2 counties for improving public areas ahead of a busy tourist season.
