Over €40million has been allocated for investment in regional and national roads across Carlow and Kilkenny.
The funding comes as part of an overall funding package of €1.3 billion announced today by Minister Darragh O’Brien.
Minister Murnane O’Connor told KCLR News: “I am delighted to welcome significant investment in our regional and national roads This funding will make a real difference in communities right across Carlow and Kilkenny, allowing safer roads for all road users.
“I am particularly delighted to see €450,000 in funding for Leagh Bends included today. This project is critical for road safety and connectivity in Carlow and it is an area I have been raising with the Department of Transport and Transport Infrastructure Ireland for some time. I am keen to see it progress quickly.”
