The Eclectic Light Programme – Interview – Gav Cowley of Glimmermen

Glimmermen comprise: Gav Cowley (guitar, vocals), J. Bassetti (bass), Phil Murray (drums) and Dave Prendergast (trumpet) and that alone should tell you that this is a band that does things their own way and, live especially, their sound has a unique edge. Their debut EP “Satellite People” was released in 2012 and impressed many so the pressure was on, to coin a phrase, for the follow up. They did not disappoint. Glimmermen have a rightly deserved reputation as a live band but have managed to successfully to transfer the energy to record and have released their follow up album “Breakin’ Out” to an expectant fanbase while adding more people as they go along.

They’ve played in Thomastown on a number of occasions but have never played in Kilkenny city. They will rectify this on Friday, August 19th at Cleere’s Theatre and as well as seeing them live, all ticket holders will come away with a vinyl copy of the album. Special guests on the wight will be Vulpynes
