Ed Hamell (aka Hamell On Trial) is a regular visitor to Kilkenny and a firm favourite. His creative work has been described by Righteous Babe Records as “loud, fast music informed by politics, passion, energy and intelligence, played by a guy with a sharp tongue and a wicked sense of humor”.
He describes himself as a storyteller which is to understate his recorded work and incredible live performances. He is a storyteller but is that and much more and his gigs are always fiery and, by turns, hysterically funny and poignant.
After a few attempts we got to meet in the studio to chat about his work, his influences and his passionate approach to music and life.
