ESB battling to restore power across Carlow Kilkenny

50-thousand homes in the southeast, including 1500 in Carlow and Kilkenny remain without power as ESB network crews continue to repair damaged lines.

Electricity has been restored to almost 10-thousand people so far today – and it’s hoped that number will climb throughout the afternoon.

ESB networks have warned that some people could be left without power over the weekend due to the unprecedented number of faults caused by Wednesday’s storm.
