Extra care needed on roads across Carlow and Kilkenny this week

Motorists across Carlow and Kilkenny are being advised to allow extra time for their journey’s all this week.
The call comes from AA Roadwatch who are predicting the busiest festive season on our roads for years.
If you’re heading out to do the last of your Christmas shopping this week – make sure you allow extra time getting to and from your destination.
AA Roadwatch is predicting bumper-to-bumper traffic as the panic sets in to get the last of your Christmas presents.
Local road users are being urged to take extra care on the roads, as traffic severely increases in the build-up to Christmas day.
The advice is to plan your journey well in advance, and where possible travel when it’s quieter on the roads.
The weather may also affect traffic on our roads, with Met Eireann forecasting more heavy rain for much of the week.
And for those of your travelling on Christmas day, you’re being advised to make sure you have a spare wheel, check your vehicles battery and keep a pair of jump leads in your boot.
