Extra care is needed on roads across Carlow and Kilkenny as heavy rain batters the country

Motorists across Carlow and Kilkenny are being urged to take extra care on the roads today, as heavy rain batters the country.

You’re being asked to allow extra time for your journey’s today as a number of weather warnings are in place for a number of parts of the country today.

Up to 70 millimetres of rain is expected to fall in Cork city, where a status orange warning is in place.
