Families already counting ‘Back-to-school’ costs

Schools have only just closed for summer holidays but it seems many local families are already starting to count the back to school costs

A survey carried out by the Irish league of credit unions shows 82 percent of parents find the expenses involved to be a financial burden with some making sacrifices to pay for books and uniforms.

Roisin Gilroy, Head of Credit at St Canices Kilkenny Credit Union says it can be a difficult time for families.
