Fatal collision on the Carlow/Kilkenny border

One person has died in a car crash just outside Paulstown on the road to Bagenalstown this evening.

The fatal collision happened at around 4 o’clock today and involved just one car which is believed to have collided with a parked van.

Anyone who was on that stretch of road at the time is asked to contact Bagenalstown Gardaí.

The road remains closed until further notice with diversions in place.
