Fears remain over future of Muine Bheag Vocational School, Carlow

Only 12 students have enrolled to start at Muinebheag Vocational School in Bagenalstown later this month.
That’s according to local Councillor, Denis Foley, who’s also a member of the school’s Board of Management.
It comes after it was revealed by KCLR news last year that the school was due to close due to dwindling numbers enrolling there.
A follow-up public meeting resulted in the Kilkenny Carlow Education and Training Board agreeing to keep it open if 20 people enrolled there this year and next year.
However only 12 students are due to start there in under four weeks time, and Councillor Foley told KCLR N|ews that it’s a worrying time.
