Feile na nGael wins for Windgap boys and Galmoy girls in Belfast

Windgap competed in the boys Division 2 40×20 against Claregalway (Galway) and St Augustine (Waterford). Windgap defeated both teams in the group stage with the final between the top two teams. Windgap played Claregalway in the final and with the Windgap boys playing great handball all weekend they didn’t give up in the final and brought home the Feile Division 2 title. The winning Windgap team were Robert Culleton, Jack Doyle, Eoin O Brien, Padhraic Foley

 

Kells competed in Division 4 40 x 20 against teams from Lahorna (Tipperary), St. Paul’s (Belfast), St. Mellan’s (Monaghan) and Munterconnaught (Cavan) with the top two teams qualifying to play each other in the final. Kells defeated St. Paul’s and St. Mellan’s but unfortunately did not make the final. Kells team were Dylan Crehan, Michael Prendergast, Dillon Wall, Kieran Buckley, James Shirley

 

Galmoy competed in the Girls Division 2 40×20 against Cullohill (Laois)and Broadford (Limerick). They defeated Cullohill but were defeated by Broadford in the group stage. The final was between the top two teams which were Broadford and Galmoy. The Galmoy girls kept their best handball till the Final and won a very exciting match 21-19 21-17 to bring the Feile Girls Division 2 title home. The winning Galmoy Team were Kelly Ann Ryan, Noelle Dowling, MaryEllen Phelan, Katie Ryan

 

Robert Culleton Windgap, Dylan Crehan Kells and Noelle Dowling Galmoy took part in the Feile Handball skills competition with Noelle Dowling bringing home the bronze medal. Well done to all the players and to all their coaches and parents who travelled to Belfast with them.
