The festival atmosphere continues in Kilkenny and Carlow today as the 2nd day of the Cat Laughs begins and the Carlow Arts Festival gets underway.
The Cat Laughs last night celebrated it’s 21st birthday as this year’s comedy festival began in Kilkenny City.
If you’re looking to laugh it up this evening then they have a host of different comedians taking to the stage from 7 o’clock.
First up are David O’Doherty, Aisling Bea, Beth Sterling and Gearóid Farrelly at 7 in the Set Theatre.
After that PJ Gallagher and Deirdre O’Kane are among the crew performing in the Kilkenny Ormonde Hotel from 8.
And in Langton’s Ballroom, Ardal O’Hanlon & Co will be getting going from half past 8.
Elsewhere, in Carlow the Éigse Carlow Arts Festival begins in earnest today!
Now in their 36th year, the official launch takes place this evening in the Visual Centre from 7 o’clock.
A pop-up Cultural Quarter will then be opening on Dublin Street at 9pm while in Tully’s Bar, folk and jazz band ‘The Eskies’ will take to the stage at around 10 o’clock.
The festival runs from this evening until next Friday the 5th of June.
