Research figures released by Fáilte Ireland have shown the numbers of foreign visitors to Kilkenny and Carlow were down in 2013.
Despite an overall increase of 6.4 per cent in foreign tourists to the country, Carlow and Kilkenny were among six counties to see a reduction in numbers.
Speaking to KCLR news, Chairperson of Kilkenny Tourism, Colin Ahern, says he disagrees with the findings and that events in Kilkenny during 2013 saw an increase in numbers.
