Four Fianna Fail Councillors upped and left a special meeting of Carlow county council yesterday evening before a vote on the property tax rate for next year.
Councillors Ann Ahern, Jennifer Murnane O’ Connor, John Pender & Fintan Phelan walked out of the meeting after remarks made in the chamber in relation to Councillor Murnane O’ Connors General Election candidacy were not withdrawn.
In the finish the vote on the property tax went ahead and there will be no change to the rate for 2016.
