Fine Gael have appointed Charlie Flanagan as Director of Elections for the Carlow-Kilkenny by-election in May.
The party will choose its candidate next Thursday night (5th March) in Lyrath estate hotel Kilkenny.
Former IFA President John Bryan and Kilkenny Councillor David Fitzgerald will go head-to-head for members votes.
