Emergency services attended a large fire at a disused landmark hotel on the Kilkenny Waterford border.
It’s understood the fire broke out at around 9:30 pm at the former Ard Ri Hotel last night.
Smoke was seen billowing across Waterford City and parts of South Kilkenny.
The cause of the fire is unknown at the hotel owned by Kilkenny man Seamus Walsh while no injuries have been reported.
The hotel has been vacant for a number of years and was subject to high court proceedings earlier this year over its proposed purchase.
