Chuck Prophet needs little introduction to fans of great songwriting and truthful performance. From his time with Green On Red, in his many collaborations and on his solo releases, his songs make you think, cry and sometimes make you angry. His latest album, “Bobby Fuller Died For Your Sins” has his trademark honesty, collaborations with poet klipschutz and the powerful playing of the Mission Express ( to analogue tape). The songs rock and roll in the truest sense of the phrase and his description is “California Noir” which resonates throughout.
We chatted about songwriting, summoning the moment for tape and the inspirations for the songs on and album.
Chuck visits The Set Theatre on July 28th with John Blek. Details here
