David Corley arrived in to a waiting Kilkenny in 2015 to one of the greatest welcomes a songwriter has ever received. His album “Available Light” had charmed and won many fans and his gigs were every bit as good as we had expected they would be. Fast forward a couple of months and, after a gig in Holland, he was almost lost to us. Thankfully he has made a full recovery and this has naturally informed the writing and recording of his new material. While there is this and other pressures due to expectations raised by the first album, he has risen to the challenge and and his new EP “Lights Out” is a fine piece of work and gives an excellent sense of what to expect from his next album, once againto be produced by Chris Brown.
Taking time out of a hectic Irish tour (including a triumphant brace of performances at Roots 2016), he dropped in to Studio 2 with Chris Brown and Sarah McDermott to play some tracks live.
