Joe Chester is a famous name in Irish music, both as a songwriter, in bands and as a solo performer, a live musical accompanist and as a producer of some of the finest Irish releases across a wide range of genres from a variety of award winning artists. It was this busyness that has meant that his latest album “The Easter Vigil” is his first in over five years. He’s applied the same care and attention to this as he does to his many projects and the album is a perfect blend of space and depth with fine songs and production as you’d expect.
We discussed the making of this album, his approach to songwriting and we hear two acoustic songs from the album.
