Former Junior Heritage Minister Malcolm Noonan has been elected to the Seanad.
He topped the poll with 107,000 votes and was elected on the first count to the agricultural panel.
The former TD lost his seat in the General Election in November but will now return to Leinster House as a Senator.
The newly elected Green Party Senator says it was a tough campaign…
“It is a tough campaign, but I’m delighted we came out doing so well, I mean, to top the
poll on the agricultural panel is no mean feat.”
“We’re very happy with it, but I also feel that sense of duty now, that I am elected to
ensure that we continue to drive the country forward in a very positive way and
look at the opportunities that are there around building strength and resilience into our
communities, up and down the country.”
