A past pupil of a Kilkenny school has been chosen to represent Ireland in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest.
16-year-old Molly Sterling is a Tipperary native but she attended Kilkenny College in the City.
This year’s Eurovision marks the competition’s 60th anniversary and will be held in Vienna, Austria in May.
Molly co-wrote the song she performed last night, Playing with Numbers, with singer-songwriter Greg French.
Speaking to KCLR News, her former music teacher at the school, David Mellon, said Molly’s success last night came as no surprise to him!
