Frances Fitzgerald is new Justice Minister

Frances Fitzgerald has been named as the new Minister for Justice and Equality.

Her position as Minister for Children will be taken over by the Laois Offaly TD, Charlie Flanagan.

The Taoiseach has also re-assigned the Department of Defence to himself – pending giving that post to another existing Minister.

Enda Kenny made the announcement in the Dáil just before 11.
