A new support scheme for victims of domestic violence comes into effect next week.
Its an initative by Patricia Stephenson of the Social Democrats who says the free travel scheme will support survivors and their families with a three-month payment, extendable in some cases.
The scheme will be administered by Community Welfare Officers (CWOs), with referrals made by domestic violence agencies operating under Cuan, the DSGBV agency including women’s refuges and referrals can also be made by gardaí.
