Flu vaccinations are still being encouraged as cases are due to peak by the end of December.
The HSE say 816 new cases were admitted to hospital last week, with more than 600 remain in care.
While the rate of growth is continuing to slow, infections are still growing.
Director of Health and Protection at the HSE, Dr. Eamonn O Moore, says the vaccination is important as there may still be thousands who become infected.
