Full permission granted now for new distillery in Royal Oak

The go-ahead has been given for a brand new Whiskey distillery in Carlow.

Full planning permission has been granted now to Walsh Whiskey to build a new distillery, maturation warehouse and visitors’ centre at the Royal Oak in Bagenalstown.

Building is set to get underway next month with the plant up and running by 2016

It will see 55 new full and part time jobs for Carlow and it’s hoped the visitor centre will attract 75 thousand tourists to the area by 2021.
