A fundraiser to send a local man to Germany for specialised medical treatment has reached, and exceeded, its €110,000 target.
Launched on Tuesday night by family and friends of Tommy Griffin from Glenmore within just 24 hours it went beyond the amount requested, but all funds will be put to good use.
Tommy’s been battling melanoma since 2014 and last week had some devastating news at a routine checkup when he was told it had moved into his lungs and bowel.
If you missed his brother PJ speak about this on The KCLR Daily yesterday, you can listen back here.
While on the GoFundMe page PJ issued the following since; “On behalf of Tommy, Linda, his 4 Children, the Griffin Family, Phil and all Tommy’s very close Friends and colleagues, What can we Say but Thank You, we are humbled by Everyone’s generosity, Tommy and his Family are so fortunate to have you all supporting him in this challenging period”.
