Galmoy Mine spokesperson says they can't guarantee no more sink holes in the area

A spokesperson for the company that looks after Galmoy Mines in Kilkenny says he can’t guarantee that no more sink holes will appear there again.

They’ve carried out an investigation into why one appeared in a field there on February 15th and say a number of factors including the recent heavy rainfall were to blame.

However Vice President of Technical Services Steve Gatley says he can’t categorically rule it out a they occur naturally.
