Garda cars and equipment “not fit for purpose” according to local GRA spokesperson

Garda cars and equipment are not fit for purpose.

So says Carlow/Kilkenny spokesperson for the Garda Representative Association, Ger Comerford.

It comes as a new survey has found that morale among Gardaí is at its lowest in history.

Garda Comerford says it’s down to a number of issues, the most prominent of which is the low pay levels within the force.

However, speaking to KCLR News, he says that they’re also working with substandard equipment that leaves them vulnerable to attack.
