Gardaí say their investigation into an incident of animal cruelty in Carlow is continuing.
It was reported to them yesterday that on Wednesday night a cat had a firework attached to its tail by a group of young people on the Link Road.

When the firework was set alight, the cat darted out in front of a car and was killed.
Investigtors at Carlow town Garda Station are appealing for witnesses or anybody with information to contact them.

It’s the latest incident in our two counties involving fireworks, as a number of communities reporting seeing the devices being lit and thrown at people or being set off late at night causing a disturbance.
