Welfare and wellbeing are high on the agenda at a Garda conference starting in Carlow today.
The Justice Minister will address the Association of Garda Sergeants and Inspectors when members meet in Tullow.
Mount Wolseley hosts the 3 day event with around 160 members set to attend.
Speaking ahead of the event, local Sergeant Pat Baldwin says recent scandals in the force have certainly taken their toll on members.
He says it’s very concerning, describing how last 14 months 7 serving members have been lost through suicide.
