Garda Superintendent pays tribute to 'community spirit' in Kilkenny

The Garda Superintendent in Kilkenny has paid tribute to the community spirit in the city and county following yesterdays events.

Gardai in the city received 324 calls yesterday during the height of the storm and worked to relieve traffic and other issues as trees and other fallen debris saw roads closed for hours at a time.

Speaking to KCLR news today Superintendent Paraic Dunne said yesterday was a very difficult day for all involved, but he said thanks to a huge group effort no-one was seriously hurt.
