Gardaí appeal for witnesses to assault and robbery after 4 arrested in Tullow

Gardaí are looking for your help after an assault an robbery took place on the M7 during the week.

Three men were pulled in on the hardshoulder of the motorway near Naas at about 10 past 12 in the afternoon when were approached by four other men who pulled in their car in front of them.

They were then assaulted and robbed of a small quantity of cigarettes.

The culprits were driving a white VW golf with a 151 Dublin reg.

They travelled from Tallagh before the robbery and then onto Tullow in Carlow where they were stopped by Gardaí and three men in their 20s and one juvenile were arrested.

Three of the men were charged in relation to the incident and appeared before Naas district court.

They’ve been remanded on bail and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions in relation to the minor.

Gardaí say the motorway was very busy at the time and they’re appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact them at Naas Garda Station on 045 884300 or any other Garda Station.
