Gardaí appeal for witnesses as vandals target Kilkenny Castle

Gardaí are looking for witnesses after windows at Kilkenny Castle were damaged on two separate occasions last week.

Between 5.30pm last Friday and 7am on Saturday morning three windows were damaged from the outside.

Gardaí believe people may have been throwing things at them but it’s unclear whether it was from outside or inside the grounds.

This is the second time that happened – the first was reported on Wednesday of last week when one of the workers at the castle came to work that morning to find two windows broken.

They were windows to the Drawing Room of the Castle on the first floor.
