Gardai continue to question woman over the death of 6-year-old boy in Waterford

A woman in her 30s remains in custody this morning after the body of a six year-old boy was found in County Waterford. 

He was discovered dead inside a car at Rathmoylan Cove close to Dunmore East after midnight yesterday. 

The car has been forensically examined and the results of a post mortem will determine the course of the investigation. 

Waterford Senator John Cummins says locals are supporting the family: 

“Look, there’s just been completion of this belief that such a thing could happen in such a small close-knit, close community, but the people of Waterford will rally behind the family that I have no doubt and will support them in whatever way they need, but it really is a terrible tragedy.
