Gardai escort Kilkenny Central Access Scheme suppliers for a second time today into the site

Greens Bridge in Kilkenny City had to be closed for a time this afternoon while Gardai escorted two trucks into the site of the Central Access Scheme works.

Up to 40 Gardai made a pathway into the area which was obstructed by protestors.

Dozens of Gardai were also deployed to escort a diesel tanker into the construction site this morning and demonstrators were moved aside after they had blocked the delivery yesterday afternoon.
