Gardaí in Kilkenny have issued a warning after a local lady fell victim to what they’ve described as a ‘vicious scam call’.
Yesterday she was contacted by a man claiming to be from global financial technology company Revolut who told her somebody had taken out a €20,000 loan in her name.
In a panic, she provided details and then discovered her account and linked Bank of Ireland account were cleared out – she’s had to cancel all of her cards and even her Passport.
An Garda Síochána reminds that no such information should ever be shared – they’ve advice here – and if you get caught out or have concerns you can contact your local garda station.
