Gardaí in Kilkenny warn those taking part in charity events that they’re not above road rules

Gardaí locally are reminding those taking part in charity events that they are not above the law.

Photos from a recent event which passed through Kilkenny show one motorist on a mobile phone while driving, another vehicle had no registration plates and there were a number of other concerns raised.

Local law enforcers say the cavalier attitude to road safety can not be tolerated and charity won’t be taken as an excuse for putting road users at risk.

It’s as extra checkpoints are in place across the country this week.
