Gardaí in Kilkenny are investigating a series of burglaries that have occurred over the past week, and are urging residents to lock up, stay vigilant, and report any suspicious activity.
The first incident took place in the Cruttenclough area in the early hours between 1:30am and 2am, when an elderly woman was woken to find two men in her bedroom. Garda Rob Rasmussen described the event as “quite distressing” for the victim.
The second burglary occurred in the Clashduff area between 31st January and 1st February, when suspects broke into a home and stole power tools.
A third incident took place on 1st February, between 1:25am and 1:47am, at a vacant property that was ransacked.
Gardaí are asking anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in these areas, or who may have doorbell or dashcam footage, to contact Castlecomer Garda Station or Kilkenny Garda Station.
