A local charity for children with special needs fell victim to a suspected arson attack last night.
Paula Rudkins, Service Manager at Enable Ireland, in the Butts area of Kilkenny City, says the charity’s premises in the O’Neill Centre was attacked, with emergency services called to the scene at approximately 3am last night.
Ms Rudkins said that Kilkenny Fire Servuice extinguished a fire that would have compromised the building’s roof had it been left to burn for 20 more minutes, it had been smoldering for a number of hours.
